Political instability in Haiti and international intervention

Haiti faces significant political instability characterized by escalating gang violence, corruption, and weakened governance, leading to a humanitarian crisis and widespread displacement. The Security Council will explore the urgent need for international intervention to restore order and support sustainable development, focusing on strategies for disarming gangs, protecting human rights, and empowering local governance. Delegates will discuss the balance between effective intervention and respect for Haiti’s sovereignty, aiming to create a coordinated international response that addresses the needs and aspirations of the Haitian people.
